Robert “Rob” Banas of Garfield, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a profound sense of loss among family, friends, and all who knew him. From a young age, Rob demonstrated a vibrant personality and a strong sense of connection with others. Growing up, he formed lifelong friendships through shared passions like Little League, track and field, and a love for muscle cars, video games, and bowling. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy to every situation, whether by turning a bedroom into a glowing black light “night club” or creating countless memories during trips and everyday adventures. His humor, honesty, and competitive spirit made him a friend who could always be counted on.
Rob’s life was marked not only by his relationships but also by his dedication to living fully and authentically. He cherished his family and friends, valuing connection, laughter, and shared experiences above all. Those closest to him remember his kindness, playful energy, and the warmth he brought into every room.
Robert Banas will be remembered as Rob, Bobertcon, Pebo, Banjo, and one of the “three amigos”—a brother in every sense of the word. His legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who loved him deeply.

A funeral Mass will follow Wednesday, April 1, at 10:00 am at Most Sacred Heart Church RC in Wallington, New Jersey. Family, friends, and all who knew Rob are invited to celebrate his life and legacy.
